I’m still alive. Promise.

So, this blog post has been a few weeks in the making, as I’ve been without internet. My room mate decided she wasn’t going to be honest about paying the bill (I don’t see what she had to gain by lying – don’t tell me that you paid it if you didn’t), so we’ve been cut off. I’ve pretty much been getting my internet fix by using my smartphone, but Telus is useless and the only things that work seem to be Twitter and Facebook. Even though the Facebook app for Android crashes more times in a day than I have hairs on my head. Though… the sordid Facebook app doesn’t even come close to the debauchery of WordPress for Android. Everything I’d written I scrapped because I just about snapped my phone in two.

Which… I need my phone at this point. Unfortunately. I hate that I need it, because I despise cellphones, but I need to be able to reach James and Emi’s doctors/nurses. Not to mention my parents. James and I have decided that we’re going to get our own internet services set up in our name… that way we get the bill and know for sure that it’s paid. If my room mate doesn’t want to contribute, she can’t use the internet… it’s that simple. :) Tired of being given the run around. Just because it’s in her name… fuck. Hopefully this will be happening sometime this week or the next and when it does… there will be much work done on this site. Much work done.

Right now, I’m sitting on my mum’s laptop. I don’t like this one too much… the only thing I like better on this one than on mine is the keyboard. These keys feel more like the ones I’m used to, versus those… streamline, flat keys mine has. Space keys. Yuck.

KiTTiE tattoooo! The last few weeks have been a bit insane. I started the month in the tattoo chair, getting my KiTTiE tattoo worked on. I hadn’t realized it’d been almost three years since it had been worked on… time flies, for sure. Trevor was really happy that we’re getting it all finished up, though. This session was a major one… he completely recoloured what was already done, and finished it off. I have one more session to go, to touch up and add the blood spatter in the background, and then it’s complete. :) Then… I have to make appointments to get my headless Horseman tattoo done, LOL. That one will take a few months, though… Brian’s usually pretty booked up.

We’ve has a lot of thunder and lightening storms. My town actually made it on the provincial news last week for a flash flood we had. It was pretty brutal. My room mate and I were on our way to Walmart to go grocery shopping when it happened. The most memorable thing was when we were waiting for the light to change at the Y, a giant bolt of lightening erupted in the middle of the intersection. I wish I’d gotten a picture of it… but it happened to quickly. The weather has settled mostly since then. We’ve gotten a nice heatwave going on now… which makes for a miserable me, since I am extremely susceptible to heatstroke and sunstroke. Pay day… I’m going to see if I can invest in a small air conditioner or some fans. The house stays pretty cool when we leave the windows open with the blinds closed… but with room mates… not everyone gets the memo. -_-

Emilie in the highchair. Emilie has been growing in leaps and bounds. I’ve been going down to the Pregnancy Outreach centre the last couple of weeks, taking classes and hanging out, and it wasn’t until Bev pointed it out to me that I realized how far a long she is in her development. She turns six months old in a week, but already her hand-eye coordination is incredible. She can hold her own bottle, pick up and put down toys, and sit down/stand up with minimal assistance. My dad bought her this thing called a Bumbo chair, which is supposed to help develop her core muscles and improve her posture so she can sit up on her own. My little monster is growing up so fast, I can’t even believe it.

In my downtime… trying to get back into reading. I’m going to start scrap booking. Try to, anyway. I’m going to start making synthetic dreads, too. Hopefully I will be ordering my supplies to do that on the 9th. I might try to start a little business for that if things go well. Seems like a cliche thing, but… I need a hobby. Trying to get on a schedule and stick with it… that’s the ultimate goal and so far, so good. Wish me luck. LOL.
